Tonight's show went with the theme "Alphabet Soup," i.e. songs starting with each letter of the alphabet, in order from A to Z. The concept was blatantly stolen (erm, I mean borrowed) from[info]leisurely_sip, who has done similarly themed editions of her WUML show, Coffee and Cartoons. Predictably, the show ran a little long (by about 20 minutes), to accommodate all 26 songs.

“Alien Salad Abduction” - Chris Conway
“Big Balls” - AC/DC
“Coffee and Cartoons” - Sponge Awareness Foundation
“Don't Shoot” - Rob Balder

“Enema Countdown” - DaVinci's Notebook

Concert Awesomeness
I slept for all of two hours last night. Because today is Easter, I had to be up at 5:00 AM to get ready to sing for a 6:30 AM church service. And I didn't get home last night until 2:00 AM. Why so late? Well, it was because I drove to Atlanta yesterday to see Jonathan Coulton and Paul and Storm in concert. And it was totally worth it.

This was my first time seeing Jonathan Coulton perform, and I hadn't seen Paul and Storm since their days in DaVinci's Notebook. I knew it would be a fun time. I just wasn't prepared for quite how amazingly awesome it would be. By 7:00 PM, a line had already started forming for the 8:30 general admission show. Luckily, I was able to score a spot right down front, along with [info]voiceofkiki. Throughout the concert, we led the way with hand claps, harmonies, and panty-throwing. Yes, I am proud to say that I was part of a record-setting crowd for the number of panties thrown during "Opening Band." The official count was 11 pairs. I'm proud to say that the pair I threw (a pink thong with two crossed electric guitars on the front) earned a place on Storm's mic stand, where they stayed throughout Paul and Storm's set. Overall, the crowd was enthusiastic and fun, and everyone seemed to have as much fun with Paul and Storm as they did with Jonathan Coulton, despite the fact that, when asked for a show of hands, a majority of the audience admitted to not having heard of Paul and Storm before.

I ended up buying the Thing a Week box set from JoCo and all three of Paul and Storm's CDs. These latest additions to my music collection will no doubt end up being featured on the Mind Warp.

If you haven't seen Jonathan Coulton and Paul and Storm live, you must! They are amazingly fun and entertaining, and the two acts together make a fantastic double bill.
